Flutes Facade

Round, square, trapezoid

A fluted facade is cladding made of metal panels or profiles shaped into continuous parallel ribs and grooves ("flutes"), usually running vertically. The repeating profile catches light on the ribs and holds shadow in the grooves, giving the building a refined, rhythmic texture inspired by classical fluted columns.

Continuous ribs and grooves

Why choose a fluted facade?

Light in soft lines

Ribs catch light while grooves hold shadow, giving a calm, moving texture through the day.

Height and elegance

Vertical flutes draw the eye upward, making towers and entrances feel taller and more refined.

Wraps any form

Flutes run smoothly around curves, corners and round columns without visible breaks.

Hides imperfections

The ribbed profile disguises minor wall unevenness and resists the look of dents better than flat panels.

How does a fluted facade work?

Profile

Choose flute shape, depth and spacing (pitch) to suit scale and budget.

Form

Profiles are extruded or roll-formed, cut to length and finished.

Clip

Panels clip onto concealed aluminium rails with aligned, near-invisible joints.

Types, materials & finishes

Round flutes

Soft, classical half-round ribs.

Square flutes

Crisp, modern rectangular ribs.

Trapezoid flutes

Angled ribs for sharper light and shadow.

Variable pitch

Rib spacing changes across the wall for a dynamic rhythm.

What is the difference between a fluted facade and a fin facade?

Flutes are a continuous ribbed surface fixed close to the wall for texture. Fins are separate blades that project out from the facade, mainly to shade glazing.

Yes. Vertical flutes follow curves naturally, which makes them a popular choice for round columns and curved entrances.

Round flutes feel classic and soft, square flutes feel crisp and modern, and trapezoid flutes give sharper shadows. We share samples so you can compare in daylight.

No. Aluminium flutes are metal, suited to exterior use, non-combustible and long-lasting under sun and rain. WPC and PVC fluted panels are mostly for interiors.

Vertical grooves are largely self-cleaned by rain. In dusty areas, a periodic wash keeps the finish looking even.
