Solid Panel Facade

Clean, flat, monolithic metal cladding

A solid panel facade is cladding made from solid metal sheet — typically 2–4 mm aluminium — folded into trays and fixed to a sub-frame with a ventilated gap behind. It gives a clean, seamless look and protects the building from weather. Unlike composite panels with a plastic core, solid aluminium is non-combustible.

Clean, flat, monolithic metal cladding

Why choose a solid panel facade?

Safer than plastic-core ACP

Solid aluminium has no polyethylene core, making it a more fire-safe choice for high-rise and public buildings.

Built to last

Rigid, flat and dent-resistant, with PVDF finishes that hold their colour.

Shape freedom

Panels can be folded, curved or formed into 3D shapes.

Weather-smart wall

The ventilated cavity sheds rain and reduces heat build-up.

How does a solid panel facade work?

Engineer

We plan panel layout, joint lines and fixing details.

Fabricate

Sheets are CNC-cut, folded into trays, stiffened and coated.

Install

Panels hang on a sub-frame with a ventilated air gap, using open or sealed joints.

Types, materials & finishes

Flat panels

Clean, monolithic surfaces with crisp joint lines.

Curved & 3D panels

Rolled, bent or folded for sculptural forms.

Open-joint rainscreen

Shadow-gap joints for a refined look.

Solid + perforated

Combine with perforated panels for screens and vents.

What is the difference between solid aluminium panels and ACP?

ACP has two thin aluminium skins bonded to a core, often polyethylene. Solid panels are a single sheet of 2–4 mm aluminium — more rigid, non-combustible, fully recyclable and longer-lasting. ACP is usually cheaper.

Aluminium itself is non-combustible, so solid panels avoid the fire risk of plastic-core composites. Overall fire performance also depends on insulation, sub-frame and cavity barriers, so we design the full assembly.

3 mm is the common choice for exterior facades. 2 mm suits smaller panels and soffits. 4 mm suits large panels or high-wind locations.

Yes. Panels can be rolled, bent or folded into curves and 3D shapes.

Correct thickness, rear stiffeners and fixing design keep panels flat and minimise visible waviness (oil-canning). We specify these per panel size.
